MWA Web and Privacy Policy

Information Held

MWA currently holds some information in relation to its members, employees, contractors, subscribers, customers and other stakeholders. Depending on the nature of the relationship with MWA (member, business, employee, etc) this information may include but is not limited to:

  • Information relating to home and work address, phone and fax numbers, email and web addresses.
  • Personal information such as gender, date of birth, educational qualification and employment position.
  • For employees information documenting tax file numbers, letters of appointment and employment contract, work history, bank account details, salary records and leave taken or accrued.
  • Contact and transaction history and for employees and some business customers, credit card and bank account details

Collection, Use & Disclosure

The above information is collected for the primary purpose of effectively servicing the relationship established between MWA and the individual or organization. At all times, MWA strives to ensure that the collection and storage of such information is fair, lawful and un-intrusive.

MWA will only use this information in accordance with original purposes for establishing the relationship. For members these purposes include all activities consistent with the organisation's mission and constitutional objectives.

MWA will do its best to obtain consent for any secondary use of the information and has a policy of not selling or disclosing this information outside of the MWA organisational structure.

There are a variety of reasons why MWA is required to hold this information some are related to obligations under relevant legislation, ensuring OH &S welfare of employees, allowing appropriate insurance, delivering efficient and cost effective services to members and customers.

Access, Accuracy, Correction & Security

All individuals are provided access to their information upon request. It is AWA’s objective to have the most up to date and accurate information possible and a web based data update facility is provided. All MWA data is stored securely and can only be accessed by authorised MWA staff and officers. This information including your email address will not be disclosed without your consent.

Web Site

Cookies: A cookie is an electronic token that is passed between your browser and the server whenever a page is sent to you. Our server generates one cookie to keep track of the pages you access thus allowing you to page back & forward through the web site. The cookie exists only for the time you are accessing our server. We do not use cookies to collect personal or browser usage information.

Credit Card numbers: MWA uses a third party to provide a secure and fully encrypted on-line payment facility. The transaction records are available to us but Verisign-PayPal does not transmit or send your credit card details to us. MWA does not store credit card numbers in a database. Paper transaction records containing credit card authorisations are archived in accordance with appropriate ATO legislation.
