Description

The Langat Sewerage Project was introduced in 2015 as a major project for a new approximately 108km sewerage network and Centralized Sewage Treatment Plant as well as building nine new pump stations and upgrading another two, that will benefit 920,000 population equivalents in Cheras and Kajang under Greater KL/Klang Valley programme for a sustainable city. It is under the supervision of the Ministry of Environment and Water, with Sewerage Services Department (JPP) acts as the implementing agency to oversee the execution of the project. It is fully financed by the Federal Government under the 10th Malaysia Plan (RMK-10) and 11th Malaysia Plan (RMK-11).

MMC Pembetungan Langat Sdn Bhd (MMC PLSB), is entrusted to build the facility is collaborating with Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) in transferring the latest technology in building the sewerage facility with green technology initiatives. This new and modern Langat CSTP facility provides an ideal water cycle system which will pave the way for easier integration of sewerage and water sector to be extended to whole Malaysia.
