ABOUT YOUNG WATER PROFESSIONALS
As a guide MWA YWP professional is defined as to those under the age of 35 years or below, those who is seeking water sector experience across all disciplines.
MWA ‘s Young Water Professionals (YWP) network exists to engage, represent, service and inspire younger or newer water sector professional and also general employees
In addition to regular MWA member services and benefits, the YWP Network aims to provide information, resources and events that will improve networking and career opportunities for the next generation of water professionals and, in so doing, enhance the value of their contribution to the sustainable management of water.
By specifically focusing to this next generation of water professional, MWA is searching to secure a more sustainable water future and develop a water sector that is forward looking and dynamics.
The YWP members includes;
- Current MWA members under 35 years old
- Students and Graduates
- People new to water or younger people working within the water sector
- Those considering joining the water sector (school leavers)
YWP activities and services:
- General informative and interactive sessions on water issues
- Social and networking events
- Mentoring and leadership opportunities
- Presentation/public speaking opportunities and career development sessions
- Access to volunteer and community outreach programs (Emergency Relief Squad)
- Conference scholarships
- Joint events and links to other organizations

HOW TO BE A MEMBER
The YWP membership is open to any existing MWA member by simply logging on at www.mwa.org . for on line YWP application form. (Please make sure you are already the MWA member before you apply)
YWP membership conditions:
- Must be a member of MWA
- Must be below 35 years of age.
- Can only be issued once, either as a new member or when upgrading your current student or unemployed membership
